DIY Farmhouse Dollar Tree Spring Carrot Arrangement Tutorial...
*Start by purchasing some little wooden carrot cut-outs from the Dollar Tree. They were $1.25 for a pack of 10. They also had little wooden chicks and egg cut-outs too.
*Purchase some cute spring themed scrap-booking paper. I actually purchased some cute printable paper from a fun little shop on ETSY. There are literally tons of cute printable scrap-booking paper options on ETSY.
*Trace the little wooden carrot cut-out to the back of a cute scrap-booking paper.
*Cut this traced paper piece out.
*Using a small foam brush, brush a thin layer of Modge Podge or Elmer's glue to one side of the little wooden carrot cut-out.
*Place the paper cut-out onto the wooden cut-out. Using something with a flat edge like a ruler, carefully rub the paper down on to the wood to remove any air bubbles.
*Let the paper dry well.
*You will have a little bit of paper hanging over the edge of the wood. Carefully, sand the paper to remove it from the wooden cut-out.
*Rub a little brown eye shadow or shoe polish around the edge of tje carrot to give it that fun grungy look.
***Do the steps above for all 5 of the carrots!***
*Decorate each little carrot with some jute bows, rick-rack, lace, burlap, tulle or whatever fun trim things that you have.
*Glue a little greenery to the top of each carrot for the carrot tops.
At this point you can use these darling little wooden carrots as you please...in an arrangement, on a spring wreath, in the hands of a bunny or as package or basket tags, etc.
To make a spring/Easter arrangement:
*Glue a wooden skewer to the back of each little carrot. Trim the wooden skewer down to approximately 7 or 8 inches.
*Grab the container of your choice. I used a vintage flour sifter.
*Fill the container to within an inch from the top with a piece of Styrofoam.
*Glue the little wooden carrots down into the Styrofoam. 1 at center, 2 at the front sides and 2 in the back sides of the container. If 5 carrots are too many for your container than please feel free to use less.
*Fill the top of the container with a little faux basket grass or excelsior moss.
*Personalize a fun little tag to go with your arrangement.
Walla, now wasn't that fun?
